As soon as Tikki Masala first set foot on Indian soil, the rich flavours
of authentic Indian classical music inspired him deeply.
Dil Ka Desh (‘The Land of your Heart’) features recordings from across
India of bhajans, street musicians, fellow travellers, nature and temple
sounds, which Tikki Masala, as his name already suggests – masala means
‘mixed spices’ in Hindi - fused with classical Indian instruments and his
own eclectic blend of psychedelic, hypnotic electronic sounds, rhythms
and bass lines.
